33rpm. ‘33rpm Show band 'ROCK THE BOAT’; 33rpm is the speed at which LP Records were played and ‘pop music’ was heard, prior to CD’s. John Brownrigg has created an entertainment masterpiece; using the best music in the world. Great music (check out the song list!) lots of laughs, great costumes; with audience involvement and sing-along this show is a nostalgic dream for Baby Boomers through to Generation X. This is the music that pirate radio stations across Europe played in defiance of the censorship prohibiting Pop & Rock music being played on popular radio, thereby eventually forcing mainstream radio across the world to play the songs that made up the soundtrack of our lives!

This show pays homage to the electric guitar as an instrument which shaped commercial music over the last 50 years.
The entire first half of the show features the music of "The Shadows", being the most influential instrumental band of the 60's & 70's. It was the haunting echo sounds of "Apache" that made a then 7 year old Phil take up the electric guitar. The second half of this amazing show is a real feast for connoisseurs of guitar music. Phil gets to really show his astounding ability on the fret board, covering all styles from classical to country, to heavy rock. Combined with state of the art light and sound, this show is the best, most physically entertaining event in Australia and should not be missed.

"Music can touch people at a primal level - evoking different emotions and triggering memories of particular places and times. Music is such a part of our emotional makeup - it can make you patriotic, it can make you want to fight, it can make you want to cry" Reproduced with the kind permission of Jimmy Barnes from his book Say It Loud |
