"…blowin' up a storm!"

From raw, acoustic folk with voice and acoustic guitar, to delicious electric blues and swampy soulful grooves that evoke a myriad of feelings and emotion, this music is deserving of your attention. Funky bass lines sit perfectly upon huge, open drumming, layered with Hammond organ and percussion. Add saxophone and tasty harmonies, then somehow extend all this through a kind of cowboy reggae (Pete’s description) and feel the winds of change begin to blow up a storm of hot boogie.

The band slides effortlessly through exotic melodies that move gently like a warm tropical breeze. A breeze that, when rhythmically stirred, can produce a howling force well befitting the name Peter Healy and the Hurricanes.

Peter Healy plays fantastic rhythm guitar, sings well, can punch out a tasty lead guitar break and is underestimated as a harmonica player. When joined and supported by his incredibly talented back line, magic happens. All are obviously enjoying the experience.

The songs speak well for themselves. Several have won awards, some have been covered by other artists (London and Europe) and others have received radio airplay. A newly completed EP and release of a songwriter’s collection comprising more acoustic tracks should accelerate Pete’s profile further. He has interest from Germany and the US and is currently planning his second international tour.

"Music can touch people at a primal level - evoking different emotions and triggering memories of particular places and times.

Music is such a part of our emotional makeup - it can make you patriotic, it can make you want to fight,

it can make you want to cry"
