"...a dynamic artist who is known for her ability to engage audiences with enthusiasm, honesty and humour"

For city girl, Amber Lawrence, the country is where her heart and music lies. Amber, who hails from Sydney’s east, is a singer/songwriter on the rise. She is fast becoming known for her quirky and insightful song writing, her soulful singing and her unique brand of country music.

Amber has spent the past two years working towards releasing her debut album. 2007 will see the launch of the newly finished album, consisting of 12 songs, all of them written, or co-written, by the young songwriter. Giving up full time work as an inner city accountant in 2005 allowed Amber to focus on her true passion, and the result is a beautiful album produced by Rod and Jeff McCormack, filled with songs that sum up the life of an insightful 20-something. “Deciding to follow my dreams was the best decision I have ever made,” says a determined Amber. “I had a great job and an office with a view, but all I ever wanted to do was be out on the road, singing and writing songs”. And singing those songs she’ll be doing soon, with a tour planned for the second half of 2007 upon release of the album.

Amber’s career has blossomed over the last few years. In 2006 she was awarded the prestigious Golden Saddle Award. In 2005, she was a Starmaker Grand Finalist. She followed her Starmaker success with the release of her first single and video, I’ve Got the Blues, which received enormous radio support, a top 20 spot in the Country Music Channel Charts, a TOP 100 ARIA spot and a nomination in the Tamworth Independent Artists Awards. This release was followed by her second single, The Lonely Road, which climbed to number 4 on the Country Music Charts, and remained there for several weeks!

Amber is talented singer and songwriter, but above all, she is a dynamic artist who is known for her ability to engage audiences with enthusiasm, honesty and humour. Her stage presence is one of her strongest assets. Audiences were wowed with recent performances by Amber and her band at the 2007 Tamworth country music festival and the 2006 Gympie Muster. With extensive experience as a performer, Amber has toured with country industry greats Travis Sinclair, Brendon Walmsley, Jim Haynes and Michael Carr as part of the Australian Country Muster on Tour. She has also toured with Travis Collins and Samantha McClymont as part of the Starmaker on Tour show. “It is the biggest buzz to see people enjoying my music,” she says. “When people come to my shows and sing along to my songs, it’s just the best thing in the world.”

Amber has performed the national anthem for the Prime Minister, John Howard, and has travelled Australia extensively, as well as doing shows in the United States and New Zealand.

2007 promises great things for this unique talent.  She is a 'one of a kind' artist who writes great songs and sings like she means it.  Amber is extremely driven and eager to succeed, and can be seen performing Australia wide.

"Music can touch people at a primal level - evoking different emotions and triggering memories of particular places and times.

Music is such a part of our emotional makeup - it can make you patriotic, it can make you want to fight,

it can make you want to cry"
